We are very happy that you choose to attend Bryan ISD athletic events and support our student-athletes. We hope that you enjoy watching our students perform and show off their talents.
Statewide this season, there have been incidents involving fans verbally accosting officials, student-athletes, and coaches from the stands, and even some that have involved fans coming onto the playing field or floor. As a result of this unfortunate growing trend, the Texas Association of Sports Officials (TASO), has created an “Abuse of Officials Policy”. This policy can be reviewed in its entirety by following the link provided or visiting the TASO webpage at www.taso.org. In short, the policy states that if during the course of the academic year, an individual school has 3 incident reports of abuse filed by an official, in any sport, the school is subject to sanction. This sanction can include the suspension of TASO official assignments for that school’s home games in all sports.
This type of negative behavior can not, and will not, be tolerated at Bryan ISD events. It is imperative that our parents and fans maintain composure in the stands at all times and refrain from negative verbal comments and/or physical actions toward officials, players, and coaches. Furthermore, it is equally imperative that parents and fans remain in the stands and not come onto the playing field or court at any time, for any reason. This can be viewed as an act of aggression toward an individual or group of individuals and may be dealt with as such.
Bryan ISD has administration and security personnel at all home events, sub-varsity and varsity alike. If negative behavior, verbal or physical, is reported to or witnessed by school personnel action will be taken. Depending on the nature of the incident, the following consequences may be enforced:
? Verbal warning issued
? Reseating to another location within the facility
? Removal from the facility
? Suspension from future events for a period of time to be determined
We sincerely hope that our parents and fans will continue coming to support our student-athletes and enjoy their time at Bryan ISD events. It is our hope and goal to avoid implementing the consequences listed above, but most importantly to maintain order and the integrity of sport. Estimados padres y fana´ticos,
Estamos muy contentos de que elija asistir a los eventos deportivos de Bryan ISD y apoyar a nuestros estudiantes-atletas. Esperamos que disfrute viendo a nuestros estudiantes actuar y mostrar sus talentos. En todo el estado esta temporada, ha habido incidentes en los que fana´ticos acosaron verbalmente a oficiales, estudiantes-atletas y entrenadores desde las gradas, e incluso algunos que involucraron a fana´ticos que ingresaron al campo de juego o a la cancha.
Como resultado de esta desafortunada tendencia creciente, la Asociacio´n de Oficiales Deportivos de Texas (TASO) ha creado una “Poli´tica de Abuso de Oficiales”. Esta poli´tica se puede revisar en su totalidad siguiendo el enlace proporcionado o visitando la pa´gina web de TASO en www.taso.org.
En resumen, la poli´tica establece que si durante el transcurso del an~o acade´mico, una escuela individual tiene 3 informes de incidentes de abuso presentados por un funcionario, en cualquier deporte, la escuela esta´ sujeta a sancio´n. Esta sancio´n puede incluir la suspensio´n de las asignaciones oficiales de TASO para los juegos locales de esa escuela en todos los deportes. Este tipo de comportamiento negativo no puede ni sera´ tolerado en los eventos de Bryan ISD.
Es imperativo que nuestros padres y fana´ticos mantengan la compostura en las gradas en todo momento y se abstengan de comentarios verbales negativos y/o acciones fi´sicas hacia los oficiales, jugadores y entrenadores. Adema´s, es igualmente imperativo que los padres y aficionados permanezcan en las gradas y no entren al campo de juego o cancha en ningu´n momento, por ningu´n motivo. Esto puede verse como un acto de agresio´n hacia un individuo o un grupo de individuos y puede tratarse como tal.
Bryan ISD cuenta con personal administrativo y de seguridad en todos los eventos locales, tanto subuniversitarios como universitarios. Si el personal de la escuela informa o es testigo de un comportamiento, verbal o fi´sico, se tomara´n medidas negativas.
Dependiendo de la naturaleza del incidente, se podra´n aplicar las siguientes consecuencias:
Advertencia verbal emitida Reubicarse en otro lugar dentro de las instalaciones Retiro de las instalaciones
Suspensio´n de eventos futuros por un peri´odo de tiempo a determinar Esperamos sinceramente que nuestros padres y fana´ticos continu´en viniendo para apoyar a nuestros estudiantes-atletas y disfrutar de su tiempo en los eventos de Bryan ISD.
Nuestra esperanza y objetivo es evitar la implementacio´n de las consecuencias enumeradas anteriormente, pero lo ma´s importante es mantener el orden y la integridad del deporte.
